Service Engineer / Mechanic (Colne depot)

Gibsons Garden Machinery Ltd, a leading supplier to the Groundscare industry across the North of England, are now looking at recruiting a Mechanic / Service Engineer as part of their growing team to be based in Colne, Lancashire.

There is an opportunity for an experienced mechanic / service engineer to work as part of a specialist team working on various types of professional Groundscare machinery both in the depot and on site across the North West. Due to the nature of the work the successful applicant must be a team player and have excellent mechanical skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them with maximum reliability and functionality.

As a Groundscare Mechanic / Engineer your duties and responsibilities will be:

Field & workshop based travelling across Lancashire, Yorkshire & Manchester
Deliver excellent customer service & communication
Open to work flexible hours at times when required
To carry out ‘other’ varied activities as they arise

An ideal Mechanic / Service Engineer will have the following skills and qualifications:

Previous experience within the Groundscare / Plant / Agricultural industry is preferred (diagnostics / servicing)
Experience using computer diagnostic software
Knowledge of hydraulic systems including hydrostatic drive systems
Knowledge of petrol and diesel engines
Knowledge of 12v electrical systems
Ability to work to demanding deadlines
Ability to work on both own initiative and as part of a team
Willingness to observe all safety precautions

Additional skills

Clean driving license
Interpersonal skills – cheerful with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
Ability to learn and adapt to new challenges
Flexible to changes in working hours and travel when required
Ambitious, keen, willing to learn

Applicants must hold a valid full UK driving license and be willing to travel in company vehicle across area as required.
