ATV Operator Training

This ATV training course provides delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to competently drive and operate an all-terrain vehicle. This is a hands-on course that delivers both practical skills and health & safety guidance.

  • Identify the risks associated with using a sit-astride ATV
  • Select and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Understand the main causes of accidents
  • Identify the controls and components
  • Understand the functions of all the instruments
  • Carry out daily checks as indicated in the manufacturer’s operator manual
  • Carry out appropriate pre-start checks
  • Identify and report any faults
  • Carry out an on-site risk assessment and plan the route
  • Identify loading and towing capacities.
  • Operate the ATV safely on a variety of slopes and terrain
  • Carry out a failed hill climb
  • Demonstrate active riding
  • Drive with loads and/or trailed equipment
  • Load and secure vehicles for transport on the road.

ATV OPERATOR TRAINING COURSE AIM

This course is delivered by experienced operators covering key operational techniques, as well as important health, safety, and legal requirements, ensuring attendees are confident and compliant when using ATVs in a professional setting.

LANTRA CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate of competence and for LANTRA training an accredited certificate and skills card will be awarded.
