Our training course will suit you if you are currently using or are looking to be using a Ride-On operated mower as part of your grounds maintenance work. This will provide you with the skills and
knowledge required to safely operate and maintain Ride-On Mowers through proper training.
This is a hands-on course that gives you an insight into both safety awareness and risk assessment associated with obstacles, pedestrians, and uneven terrain across the following industries.

AGENDA
On completion of this one-day training course delivered by experienced instructors. You will be able to gain practical experience on the following:
- Identifying the risks associated with the use of different types of ride-on mowers.
- Understanding the potential hazards associated with ride-on mower use.
- Importance of wearing and selecting appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Carry out daily checks indicated in the operator’s manual.
- Identify the controls and components and understanding.
- Carry out daily and pre-start checks before operation, checking oil levels, tyre pressure, belts and blades and ensuring all safety guards and protective features are in place.
- Explanation of hydrostatic transmission systems and how they differ from manual and automatic transmissions.
- Understanding different cutting mechanisms, including rotary and cylinder mowers.
- Adjust the cutting mechanism to achieve the required standard
- Identify and report any faults.
- Operate the machine in a safe and competent manner.
- Perform pre-start checks and after use maintenance.
- Safe loading and transportation of the machine using ramps and trailers (if appropriate).
- Install, remove, transport, and store a battery safely, and dispose of it properly
- Safety handling with fuel and storing to prevent spills and fire hazards.
- Working on Slopes and understanding the risks of mowing on inclines and uneven ground.
- When and where a ride-on mower can be driven on public roads.
